Lyon: an ideal city
for business or a family holiday

A city with two rivers and two hills, Lyon can be visited on foot, by bike, by bus or even by boat. Hôtel des Congrès is located right next to many centres of interest for business or tourism and is perfect for couples and families alike.

Worth discovering
near the hotel

Parc de la Tête d’Or
A botanical and zoological park stretching out over 117 ha, Parc de la Tête d’Or is considered the ‘green lung’ of the city by locals. Admission is free, and families like it for its animals brought in from all over the world, its playgrounds and its puppet theatre; botany lovers enjoy its wide variety of rare plants, its rose garden and its tropical greenhouses; athletes use it to go running; and everyone else enjoys its immense stretches of grass and strolls in the shade of hundred-year-old trees.

Cité Internationale
Featuring a contemporary art museum, cinemas, a casino, restaurants, performance venues and of course the Convention Centre, Cité Internationale, located on the banks of the Rhône, just 5 minutes from the hotel, offers a wide selection of entertainment for families, couples and friends. It was designed by architect Renzo Piano, who came up with a complex around a semi-covered pedestrian street lined with leisure and cultural venues.

La Part-Dieu shopping centre
Lyon's very own shopping mecca, the La Part-Dieu shopping centre has over 126,000m of shops and leisure facilities (restaurants, cinemas, etc.). Major national chains and small local stores can be found side by side, guaranteeing a high-quality shopping experience. Music lovers will also appreciate its direct proximity to the Lyon Auditorium.

Halles Paul Bocuse
Lyon’s famed indoor market is filled with local gastronomic specialities: cheeses, delicatessen meats, sweets, quenelles and other dishes can be tasted and purchased from expert craftsmen, some of whom boast the Meilleur Ouvrier de France title. Halles Paul Bocuse is also home to several restaurants.

City centre of Lyon
Located just 10 minutes from Hôtel des Congrès, the city centre of Lyon has countless surprises in store for visitors: Place de l’Hôtel de Ville, the opera house, churches and museums, and pedestrian streets bustling with life. Visitors adventuring as far as the confluence will discover a more modern side of the city with recent architectural projects such as the Confluence museum and the shopping centre of the same name.
